2011 marks the first official year of {Nurtured} by Jen, and I am dreaming big!
Obviously it takes a lot to build up a business, and I believe that there is only so much you can do with advertising - I think word of mouth is as powerful, if not more powerful, than advertising alone.
My goals for 2011 to establish and grow my business include:
*Creating a portfolio. Until March 30 I am offering discounted packages to enable me to build a portfolio. Contact me on nurturedbyjen@hotmail.com if you are interested in a session. Prices are on my facebook page, {Nurtured} by Jen - Photography
*Photographing at least 3 births (this one I feel will be the most difficult! Being part of a birth space is such an honour and a privelege, and I know I will have to gain a lot of trust)
*Building a client base
*Writing up a business plan.
*Organising all the official paperwork
*Creating a logo to use on all my documents and websites, business cards etc
*Advertising in the local newsletter, the childcare centres, the community health centre and wherever else I can!
*Developing a website (my domain name has all been approved, just gotta get in there and work it all out!)
*Doing a Photoshop course
*Organising web storage for all my photos. I had a near disaster (ok, it WAS a disaster) with my own photos in 2010 which thankfully I managed to partly solve (I still lost some very precious videos though!), and I've well and truly learnt my lesson. With web storage, practically anything can happen and my photos will still be safe. Just waiting for the 14th when our billing cycle renews and will do a massive, massive upload!
*Updating my blog and facebook pages on a regular basis.
Like I said, I'm dreaming big, but I think that's what you've got to do :)
